Under the thousand-step corridor, the lake water shatters into thousands of silver scales between the dark gray tiles. Weeping willows dip into the ripples, writing cursive script, and a few red carp suddenly snatch fallen petals, breaking the spring wrinkles on the pond's surface. The Taihu rockery is a solidified wave. I touched the holes and crevices etched by thousands of years of wind and waves, and heard the tinkling sound of water leaking from the cracks in the stones, as if it were the jade pendants dropped by Xi Shi when she was washing silk. Legend has it that Fan Li once rowed a boat here to live in seclusion. Now, the tour boats push aside the blue waves, carrying the soft Wu dialect laughter and conversation, startling egrets as they fly over the wisteria-covered trellises. The waterside windows frame the spring scenery like pages in a book. A branch of weeping crabapple blossoms leans in from outside the railing, its shadow blooming like rouge on the blue brick floor, interweaving with the tinkling sound of the bronze bells on the eaves. Suddenly, a breeze blows through the hall, and the magnolia flowers flutter and fall, landing in the teacups, transforming into floating verses of poetry. As dusk settles on the Nine-Bend Bridge, I suddenly realize that the corridors in the garden are actually the folds of time. Fan Li's fishing boat, Emperor Qianlong's inscription, and the banquets of merchants from the Republic of China have all turned into shimmering ripples on the water's surface. Yet, Li Garden remains a mother-of-pearl cup filled with spring wine, quietly waiting for the arrival of flowers year after year by the side of Taihu Lake.
