Nanling Jiangmuchong Ancient Mining and Smelting Site - Wuhu Museum

The Wuhu Museum is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Renhe Road and Zhongjiang Avenue in Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. The Nanling Jiangmuchong Site is a famous ancient mining and smelting site in China. The site dates back to the early Western Zhou Dynasty and is one of the earliest and largest copper production bases in China's Bronze Age. The Nanling Jiangmuchong Site at that time had already appeared roasting kilns and roasting desulfurization processes, and the blast vertical furnace smelting technology had appeared, forming China's earliest chalcopyrite - ice copper - copper production process.
