In Wuhan, a hotel desert! I stayed at the Ling She 1927, a hotel of a lifetime.

The Jiangjing Jinku Resort Hotel was formerly the vault of the Hankou branch of Taiwan Bank, and is now protecting wealth more precious than gold and silver in another form. This building, designed by British architect Henry C. Caldwell, once witnessed the ups and downs of the financial history of the Republic of China, but now it has become a container for the tired souls of modern people. The hotel is designed with the concept of "symbiosis of old and new", retaining the historical traces of the original building, such as brick walls, arches, and metal vault doors, and incorporating modern materials such as brass, leather, and black iron to create a low-key and luxurious retro industrial style. The interior of the room is a delicate balance of modern and past. Lying on the custom-made large bed, the walls of the bathroom are inlaid with pebbles collected from the Jiangtan. When the water flows down from it, it will produce a sound similar to the waves lapping on the shore. The most amazing thing is the safe door embedded in the wall. The heavy steel disc is fixed as a decoration, and the rotating handle can still be turned even though it can no longer be opened. Custom furniture incorporates Art Deco lines, toiletries are selected from Oolong or Le Labo, and the mini bar offers Wuhan specialty drinks such as "Erchang Soda". The restaurant specializes in fusion cuisine. Breakfast offers Han-style breakfasts such as hot dry noodles and bean curd, and creative dishes inspired by Jiangxian can be tasted for lunch and dinner. The speakeasy bar, transformed from the original vault space, features the signature cocktail "Lihuangpi Road Night" with rice wine as the base and Hanyang-made beer. The hotel has a small exhibition area displaying the history of the building and old objects from the financial history of Hankou. It provides clothing such as cheongsams and long gowns, which can be used for street photography on Lihuangpi Road. The hotel butler can arrange a walking route in the "Hankou Old Concession" to visit the Bagong House and the site of the August 7th Conference. The hotel is located in the center of the "Hankou Historical and Cultural District", within walking distance of: Lihuangpi Road: Wuhan's version of "Wukang Road", lined with old red brick houses and popular cafes. Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street: A century-old commercial street, with neon lights flashing at night like posters from the Republic of China. Hankou Jiangtan: A 10-minute walk to the Yangtze River, where you can cycle along the greenway during the cherry blossom season.
