Museum San, located in Jijeong-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do. This museum was opened by the Hansol Cultural Foundation in 2013. It is located inside Oak Valley, so it is a place that many tourists visiting Oak Valley visit. Museum San was designed by Tadao Ando, ​​winner of the Pritzker Prize, which is considered the Nobel Prize of architecture. Since it is surrounded by mountains, you can enjoy the changing nature of each season. Museum San is made up of 7 halls, and the most famous of them are the Welcome Center, Water Garden, Museum Main Building, and James Turrell Hall. In particular, the James Turrell Hall is an exhibition hall where you can see 5 representative works of James Turrell, an artist of light and space. All halls have a natural path, so you can enjoy the works from the Welcome Center to the James Turrell Hall without any complications. Also, because the site is so large, you can enjoy the works leisurely even if there are many tourists. My favorite place was the Stone Garden. Stone Garden exhibits 9 stone mounds inspired by Silla Tombs. Also, if you make a reservation, there is an event where you can meditate inside the stone mounds.
