Traveling around Anping and West Central District in Tainan

#Taiwan City Attractions We spent two days in Tainan, one day we went to Anping, and the other day we visited the historic sites in the Central and Western Districts: ⭕️Tainan Confucius Temple: It is the oldest Confucian temple in Taiwan, built in the 19th year of the Yongli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1665 AD). It was also the highest government-run institution of higher learning before the late Qing Dynasty, and is therefore known as the "No. 1 University in Taiwan." ⭕️Chihkan Tower: Founded by the Dutch in 1653, it was originally called "Provintia" (Provintia means eternity in Dutch), while the Han people called it "Chihkan Tower", "Fangzi Tower" or "Red Hair Tower". ⭕️Anping Tree House: It was originally a warehouse of Tak Kee Trading Co. After more than a hundred years, the warehouse had long been abandoned, but the banyan tree brought it back to life. The thick banyan trees have intertwined roots and have grown into the warehouse buildings, forming a strange sight of "house-tree symbiosis". ⭕️Anping Fort: Fort Anping was formerly known as Orange, Fort Zeelandia, Anping City, and Taiwan City. It is commonly known as Fort Sanmao, Fort Zeelandia, or Royal City. It was first built by the Dutch in 1624 and is the earliest city in Taiwan. ⭕️Anping Old Street: Located to the east of Anping Fort, it was the first street built by the Dutch in Anping, Tainan 300 years ago. It is known as "Taiwan Street" and "Stone Street", and is also known as "The First Street in Taiwan" and "Yanping Old Street".
