You don’t have to go to Dunhuang to see the thousand-year-old murals in Wenzhou

From August 9 to November 15, Wenzhou Museum planned a temporary exhibition titled "When Dong'ou Meets Qiuci", bringing the feast of Qiuci culture thousands of miles away to our eyes, allowing us to feast our eyes on the culture of the Western Regions. Qiuci (Pinyin: qiū cí, Sanskrit: Kucina) is one of the Western Regions countries on the Silk Road and the most shining one among these many pearls. As an important country in ancient China's Western Regions, it is not only an important hub on the Silk Road, but also a witness to the cultural exchange and integration between the East and the West. 👀The exhibition is arranged in the temporary exhibition hall on the third floor of Wenbo. As soon as you enter the door, you can see a breathtaking scene. Here is a cave that has been restored one-to-one based on the appearance of the Qiuci Grottoes. 👀Standing in this cave, above your head, in front, behind, and around you are all covered with various murals. These murals are all printed using high-definition inkjet printing, with the highest degree of detail. 👀‼ ️It is particularly worth mentioning that an interactive area has been set up in the exhibition, allowing the audience to "hear with their own ears" the performance of ancient Kucha music and "witness with their own eyes" the graceful Kucha dance. This immersive experience will undoubtedly make this cultural journey more vivid and profound. The second half of the exhibition hall displays cultural relics from Wenzhou, one of the hubs of the Maritime Silk Road. Dong'ou and Qiuci were echoed here. "When Dong'ou meets Qiuci" is not only a visual feast, but also a spiritual baptism. It gives tourists in Wenzhou the opportunity to get close to that distant history.
