Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland

The Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland is found in the geothermally active area of Rotorua in New Zealand. It is open between 9 and 6 each day and there is a free section (to visit the mud pods) and a paid area (around 40 New Zealand Dollars) that displays the different geothermal lakes and springs. I would recommend entering the park at 9.30 before it gets too busy. The park is guided very well with signs and there is a chance for a tour too. There are many signs translated in other languages, such as Mandarin, and each lake has information on its creation. There is also a gift shop and a cafe there too. The ambience is very exciting as it is a unique place and you can learn about the history and significance of the park. I would recommend going in the morning as the geyser erupts at 10.15am everyday with a guide explaining its creation
