Motoring through the Jungle (Vietnam)

Out of all of my Asia trips, Vietnam will always stand out. We started our trip in Ho Chi Minh city without a plan or a place to stay. We were taken in by this wonderful hostel owner who allowed us to sleep in the staff quarters as there wasn’t a room available that night. He suggested we rent motorbikes and travel to the north over the span of a few days. We had no other plan so we agreed. We were accompanied by 2 locals who gave us a full history lesson at every location. We travelled to Dalat, Dak Lak, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue and finally to Hanoi. I would definitely recommend exploring Vietnam by motorcycle. We rode on the Ho Chi Minh Highway, learning about the war and the after effects. We chased waterfalls, ate dinner in Long Houses hosted by local families. We sat on the floor and ate with our hands. We drank some of the most expensive coffee in the world. We even visited an orphanage and spoke to nuns there. Despite all the Vietnamese people have been through, they remain some of the most pleasant people I have ever met. #asiatrip #vietnam
