Patuxai in Laos

On the second day of our visit to Laos (February 13, 2024), at dusk, we checked in at the iconic building in Vientiane, Laos - 'Patuxai'. This large monument, 45 meters high and 24 meters wide, is located in the center of Vientiane, near the Prime Minister's Office (photo 2), and echoes the Presidential Palace. We admired this building and found it somewhat similar to the Arc de Triomphe in France - four symmetrical doors, solemn and solemn (because it was originally built to commemorate the victims of the war). In my opinion, the biggest highlight of Patuxai in Laos is that the top of the door and its four 'doors' all have Laotian characteristics and incorporate Theravada Buddhism. Looking up from inside the Patuxai in Laos, the top of the door is decorated with exquisite murals. A musical fountain is built in front of the Arc de Triomphe. At night, colorful water columns accompany the music, high or low, straight or rotating, pleasing to the eye!
