Wat Sakamphaeng Yai

Wat Srakamphaeng Yai, Sisaket Province 🙏This temple combines ancient Khmer art and Thai Buddhist art. It has the largest and most complete stone castle in the province. Inside the temple, there is the body of Luang Pu Kring Suphatto, the former abbot of Wat Srakamphaeng Yai, who was a famous monk in Sisaket Province. ðŸŒŋAn ancient Khmer castle over a thousand years old, with 3 prangs on the same base, facing east. The main prang is made of sandstone with a lintel carved with the image of Indra riding an elephant on a pedestal above the face of Kala. The other 2 prangs are made of brick with sandstone decorations such as lintels, pediments, and door pillar frames. 🙏There is a chapel with a beautiful Naga staircase, enshrining a replica of Phra Mia Muni and a Buddha statue in the Naga Parak posture, carved from sandstone. It is believed to have been built during the reign of King Sathan Varman II-III around 1153 BE. It is an ancient and valuable Buddha statue. 📍 Tambon Srakamphaeng Yai, Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai, Sisaket Province #Travel to save the world #Wat Sakamphaeng Yai
