Tokyo DisneySea (July 2024)

Continuing with DisneySea, we visited during the opening of the new Fantasy Spring area. At that time, a standby pass was required to enter the zone. I was most excited to try the Frozen ride, but my friend managed to book Frozen for 5 PM (despite trying to book it as soon as we entered the park). Since I thought that was too late, I decided to book Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival instead, around 1 PM. After that, there were no more Frozen tickets available. Even though I had researched extensively beforehand, I still missed out. I’ll definitely have to go back to experience it again. Currently, you can queue normally without needing a standby pass. The day we visited DisneySea, there was heavy rain for a while. We ended up wandering in and out of Fantasy Spring about 10 times 😅. I also tried to book Premier Access for another ride, but no matter how I tried, it didn’t work because I didn’t receive the SMS. Even though I had activated my SIM (I was using an eSIM and added my Thai number without enabling data), I had to restart my phone to get the roaming SIM to work. By the time I managed to fix it, Frozen tickets were already sold out. Here are the rides I managed to experience: **Indiana Jones** I expected it to be thrilling, and it was somewhat exciting, but not overly so. **Raging Spirits** Similar vibe to Indiana Jones, with a similar level of excitement, but this one includes a loop. **Toy Story Mania** This is a game where you compete with friends to score points by pulling a string to shoot targets. It’s fun but tiring 😅. **20,000 Leagues Under the Sea** Not much to it, but I got to skip the line using the 40th Anniversary pass, so it was a chill experience. **Journey to the Center of the Earth** This was the most thrilling ride. The wait time was extremely long, but it was worth it—super fun! **Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure** I loved this one! I bought Premier Access for it. You sit and move around while watching Peter Pan’s story in 3D (my friend said it made them dizzy, but I enjoyed it). The ending made me tear up a bit—it’s nostalgic and reminds you of childhood. After the ride, I went back to watch Peter Pan again. Loved it! **Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival** Absolutely beautiful, just as stunning as the shared photos of the floating lantern scene. The only downside is that it’s very short. **Soaring Fantastic Flight** I really wanted to try this one, so I bought Premier Access because the regular queue was incredibly long. The ride involves sitting (my friend felt dizzy again) while the screen shows various tourist destinations around the world, eventually returning to Disney. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. **Tips:** - Many restaurants in DisneySea require online orders and payment via credit card, so the app is essential. Download it and link your card for convenience. There are still some places that accept cash, but locations like the Frozen castle require booking and payment through the app. - Familiarize yourself with the app beforehand. Study the map and plan which attractions to visit or book in advance. - **40th Anniversary Pass:** A free fast pass that can be booked every 2 hours after scanning into the park. - **Standby Pass:** Used to book entry to rides in Fantasy Spring (currently, you can enter without booking). - **Premier Access:** Paid fast pass costing 2,000 yen per ride, available only through the app.
