London Exhibition: Kew Gardens Orchid Festival

The annual Orchid Festival at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew has begun! This year's highlight is the live plant specimens from Madagascar, ranging from spiky desert plants to succulent woodland vegetation. The exhibition features adorable sculptures made from orchids and other beautiful plants, including swinging lemurs, grazing zebu, colorful chameleons, flying insects, swimming turtles, and vibrant birds. Madagascar is home to some of the world's rarest plant species, with over 14,000 species not found elsewhere. The exhibits include orchids cultivated by Kew Gardens, which has been collaborating with Madagascar since 1986. The Kew Madagascar Conservation Centre (KMCC) is Kew's only overseas office, regularly collaborating on specific projects, including documenting all grasses found in Madagascar.
