In the 14th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1749), Master Yuande expanded and repaired the nunnery, with vermilion walls, glazed tiles, and magnificent splendor. It was destroyed during the "Four Olds" period of the Cultural Revolution. In March 1982, laymen Mo Tianchao, Wang Hongpei, Zhang Xianjiao, and others led the way, inherited the legacy of their predecessors, and generously donated money to repair the temple. In 1995, they obtained the "Religious Activity Permit" issued by the Hainan Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Department.
