Once known as one of the top three great castles in Japan, its stone walls and wide-open grounds still hold the charm of the Edo period. Though the original castle no longer stands, the Bitchu Yagura (watchtower) has been beautifully reconstructed, offering panoramic views of Tsuyama city. The area is particularly famous for its cherry blossoms in spring, but even outside of the season, it’s a lovely place for a stroll — quiet, spacious, and surrounded by nature.
