Choshi Falls: the most essential and magnificent attraction in the Oirase Gorge

#2024Travel Review Go to the most beautiful part of Oirase Stream #Choshi Falls! On this self-driving trip to enjoy the maples in the Northeast, after passing Lake Towada, I finally came to the legendary Northeastern scenic spot #Oirase Stream. Since I stayed at Hoshino for two nights, I was not in a hurry to finish the Oirase Stream in one go. Let’s start with “Choshi Falls” which is closest to the mouth of Towada Lake! Choshi Falls is the largest and most spectacular of the Oirase Gorge waterfalls. The waterfall is 7 meters high and 20 meters wide. The pouring waterfall splashes a lot of water, which is quite shocking! And the closer you get to Lake Towada, the maple leaf rice is in full bloom. With the golden and red maple leaves, the gurgling stream and the magnificent waterfall, it is really an excellent place to take pictures! There are many tourists in Oirase Stream. If you don’t want to be crowded, it is recommended to walk from Choshi Falls to Shinoguchi, or back to Yunten Falls.
