Hokkaido is just below Aomori~
Hakodate on the north shore of the Tsugaru Strait and Aomori on the south shore, although they belong to different counties, they share the same culture, similar climate, and are both the birthplaces of the Jomon civilization. It was not until the completion of the Aomori-Hakodate Tunnel in 2016 that the Shinkansen was opened between the two places. Therefore, when I was in Hakodate, I made a decision to go south to Aomori, also because of the favorite opening line of 'Little Dream Helps' (the memory of death suddenly attacks)
Picture 2, 3, 4: The Kureya Resort Hotel near Onuma Park Station in Hakodate, about 3000RMB/night. Classical romantic style, the room has a private hot spring♨️. The food is famous for French cuisine, and beer is free to drink. Just happened to encounter heavy snow, drinking by the fire is a bit cozy. The downside is that there is only one shuttle bus a day, and there are very few trams to Onuma Park Station, and the taxi to the Shinkansen Hokuto Station is about 5000 yen.
Picture 5, 6, 7: LaVista Hakodate Bay, about 800RMB/night. Red brick + European style, facing Hakodate Mountain and Christmas tree, the view from the room is excellent. It is very convenient to go to JR Hakodate Station and Hakodate Mountain Cable Car Station, and the famous attractions such as the warehouse and morning market are nearby. The hotel's breakfast is famous, and you can also grind and hand-brew coffee by yourself. The downside is that there are too many guests.
Picture 8, 9, 10: Hoshino Resort Oirase Stream, about 1800RMB/night. Hoshino's design concept is to integrate local culture, so the hotel is full of Aomori's specialty apples and Jomon cultural symbols. The Oirase Stream itself is a famous attraction in Aomori, beautiful all year round, and naturally watching snow and ice in winter, silver-clad and extraordinarily enchanting. Soaking in an open-air bath in the snow is quite soulful. You can also use Wang Lin's apple juice to mix Oirase sake, which is also a drop into the soul. I have always been very satisfied with Hoshino's hotels. If I have to say the shortcomings of this one, it is too remote. The shuttle bus from JR Aomori Station took a full 2 hours to get to the hotel. If you take a taxi to the hotel in Aomori's snow season, you may have to pay 3 times the room rate for the taxi fare (to be verified)
Sitting in the hotel's stream and room, you will be able to see the rushing river into the stream. Every night, accompanied by running water, sleep, dreams are fairy-tale pictures. In April 2017, the newly opened large-scale bath in the pavilion, Stream Hot Springs, will transform into Icefall Soup in winter, allowing guests to enjoy the ice waterfall while enjoying the soup.
Sitting in the hotel's stream and room, you will be able to see the rushing river into the stream. Every night, accompanied by running water, sleep, dreams are fairy-tale pictures. The most embarrassing moment is the open-air hot springs that the hotel must punch every day! The hotel room specially prepared a small basket of bamboo, changed the bathing suit and put on the bath towel, and took a small basket to go to the soup. The mood was beautiful.
Towada Art Center Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Five-day tour of Northeast Japan | Don't waste a single minute of your JR PASS① ||| It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to go to Northeast Japan with friends.
The first thing to do is to buy the JR PASS Tohoku 5-day ticket (except for foreign tourists, foreign residents in Japan can buy it with just their passport).
For each trip on the Shinkansen, you can use this coupon to exchange for a designated seat at the machine or window. Unlimited exchanges (should be). We exchanged for a train in advance but missed it, so we directly exchanged for the next train at the machine without any problem.
This step is worth noting: please please keep this JR PASS safe, because once it is lost, there is no way to retrieve it except to buy a new one. (My friend lost it on the second day and had to buy a new one, which was very sad.)
Next, let me share our five-day-four-night itinerary:
❄️DAY1: Tokyo → Sendai → Morioka
First, I went to the Northeast to check out the statue of Lu Xun, and next to the statue was the Lu Xun Museum, where they had his report card from back then, haha! After leaving the university, I searched for a highly rated restaurant nearby and had a lunch of beef tongue prepared in two ways, grilled and stewed, for just over 1,000 yen, which was very satisfying. Then I took a bus to the area near the Da Guan Yin temple, where you can actually go inside and see over 100 small Buddha statues. After that, I had a sweet soybean dessert near Sendai Station and ordered a soybean milkshake to take on the Shinkansen. In the evening, I chose to stay in Morioka, where the hotels near the station were very cheap and they even gave me a 2,000 yen voucher. I went to a restaurant that served Morioka cold noodles and ordered a set meal of cold noodles and grilled meat, which just happened to use up the voucher.
❄️DAY2 Morioka → Hachinohe → Aomoriya
Actually, I wanted to go to the Tenshotei Art Museum that day, but I overslept and didn't have time, so I could only leave regrets. I went straight to the Hachinohe Shokudo Center seafood market when I arrived in Hachinohe. There is a special bus for 100 yen at the bus stop, which takes about ten minutes. Then you can buy seafood in the market and rent a grill to cook and eat by yourself. The rental fee for the grill is 400 yen per person, and it comes with basic soy sauce and salt. Eat on time and take the bus back to Hachinohe Station (remember to plan the time to stay in the market, as the bus runs once an hour). I booked the Aomoriya hotel, which has its own courtyard. It's beautiful when it snows, and there is a sleep demon lamp. You can take a half-hour walk around and come back to the starting point, where there is a footbath to soak in. Back at the hotel, you can continue to soak in the hot spring and drink apple juice. I made an appointment in advance for the Sleep Demon Festival performance, which costs 1500 yen per person.
❄️DAY3 Aomoriya → Aomori → Akita
Take a bus from Aomori Station to Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art. Although we only had a brief visit due to time constraints, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and many cute details of this museum. When we returned to the station to take the Gonō Line, we found out that the starting section was suspended due to heavy snow. A bit confused, we asked the station staff who told us to take another bus to a certain station and then catch the Gonō Line from there. We had reserved a private compartment on the Gonō Line in advance, and although the weather was bad that day, there was a unique beauty to it. We slowly enjoyed the sea view all the way to Akita. We had planned to eat the famous Akita dish "Kiritanpo Nabe", but because I was lazy and didn't make a reservation, we couldn't eat at the designated restaurant.
Owada City Museum of Modern Art
Holding a super-minority art gallery in Towada City, it has already opened its 10th anniversary. This year celebrates its 10th anniversary and will be grand at the end of the year. Celebrations. If you don't want to be crowded with people, you may wish to visit the art gallery to see
The building of the museum is designed by the representative of Japan, Nishizawa. He and the sister-in-law of the island, Seiyajima, established a joint design office called SANAA, which was famous for designing the Kanazawa 21st Century Art Museum and the French Louvre Museum of Art.
Several pieces of art at the entrance of the museum are also famous. For example, the flower horse at the entrance has become one of the important landmarks of the city of Towada. It is made up of Korean modern artist Cui Zhenghua, symbolizing prosperity and vitality.
The museum not only has display space, but also rest areas, cafes and shops, all hidden in square boxes, waiting for the crowd to discover.
The entire art gallery is very quiet. You need to buy tickets at the ticket machine next to you. The ticket is 1200/person. The design of the tickets is also very special. There are different colors and patterns on the ground. There is a self-evident contrast.
Cross the bridge of light that represents fantasy and reality, let the whole body enter a state of meditation, and the mind relaxes.
I went to Japan to play in September. My friend took us to an ultra-small art museum. The Hetian City Museum of Modern Art
searched it. It seems that no one has ever sent it in Xiaohongshu! Really super niche
The biggest feature of this art museum is that while exhibiting modern art works, it also takes into account the community activities of the citizens. There is also an art square like a park, which is open to the public. The big pumpkins of Yayoi Kusama and the rebellious children of Nara's beautiful and my little ghosts that I like very much are in public areas. You can visit them without buying a ticket. There are also many works scattered on the streets of the
Art Gallery waiting for tourists to excavate
The entire art gallery is not a simple space, but a white independent box, which is connected by a long corridor. There are a total of 38 pieces of space exhibits
regular exhibits, po maps are some of my personal favorite works, as shown in Figure 3 of the "standing woman" lifelike works, standing next to it is like talking to her; Figure 7 The seemingly bland space, the probe is a paradise.
In addition to regular stations, special exhibitions will be held regularly. It coincides with the 10th anniversary of the museum and the passage/s exhibition of Korean artist do ho suh. Do ho suh is a very famous artist in the world. He is good at building a space with a stainless steel frame. Then he uses polyester fiber such as polyester to lay out the facade of the object. The author has done too much control over the simulation house, and the parts are very lifelike.
Oirase Gorge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Calming Greenery
This is the Oirase Keiryu located near Towada Lake, Aomori prefecture. There are buses that takes approximately three hours to reach from Aomori city. The stream flows along the floor of the Oirase Gorge, winding among the lush trees. It is Famous for the autumn view when the leaves turn red~ There are over a dozen waterfalls along the stream. It is said that the hiking trail is easy to follow. However, I did not try as we had driven there~ I loved how fresh the air was and it’s really lovely to be surrounded by nature 👍🏼

The hidden gem orirase 🇯🇵🍃
#timetotravel
The Oirase Gorge is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Japan, with vibrant and fast flowing water. The gorge extends over 14 km from the contrastively calm Lake Towada. The Oirase Gorge shows its beauty in different ways throughout the four seasons. However, the gorge is mostly known for its spectacular autumn foliage in the fall season.
The Oirase Gorge has an enchanting atmosphere with many waterfalls and thick woods. Starting in October, the leaves of the trees begin to change to vibrant red and yellow, adding to the already vivid green of the moss on the rocks, adding colors to a magnificent sight. The autumn colors peak every year around the end of October to the beginning of November. Visitors can hike around the gorge on the hiking trail. The gorge is a National Special Place of Scenic Beauty and National Natural Monument.
Trekking thru Oirase Stream to Lake Towada
Took the JR bus from Hachinohe station down to Oirase Keiryukan and started my walk from there. be aware of the weather bcos apparently it had been raining for 2 full weeks the week before I went!
The walk is very scenic and there will be opportunities to go down to the river and have a feel of the water. At other parts of the stream, you will just be in awe of the rapids flowing through.
The walk was relatively easy as there is a significant portion along the road and others which are trails. A solid 8/10 for this location 👍🏼
The Aojinyu Stream in Aomori Prefecture, Hokkaido, Japan, is known as the first place in the Northeast. The clear and beautiful stream flows slowly and is surrounded by virgin forests. Walking along the creek, walking under the vast trees, breathing fresh and humid air, all kinds of large and small waterfalls can be seen everywhere, as well as the mossy and vine-wrapped rocks floating on the water.
When I went, it was summer. In fact, the autumn of the Oyster River is a resort for red leaves. Imagine how beautiful it will be, and there will be a chance to come again in the fall.
Arrival: In front of JR Aomori Station or JR Shin-Aomori Station, take the JR bus "Lake" No. 2, and get off at about 120 minutes.

The Oraise Gorge
#2024wish
The Oirase Gorge is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Japan, with vibrant and fast flowing water. Wonderful and very scenic indeed, rain or no rain! I think it is one of the best forest walkibg trail in Honshu! Access to this area is can only be made by public buses between 9 am and 3 pm on some days (25 to 28 Oct 2018) during the peak foliage season.
I want to go hiking this year.
Do you think that the stream into the Oswego is endless, as if you can't see the end? Actually, it came out of Lake Towada.
Twawada Lake is a volcanic lake with an area of 12 in Japan and a third in depth. You can take a boat trip to the lake or sit by the lake and enjoy the sunset. It is also very good.
The last bus back to Aomori City is around the dinner time. It is probably the time when the lakeside restaurant is closed. Friends who are not here must be optimistic about the time, or ask the staff to avoid affecting the itinerary.

Tsuta Onsen is a secret area in Aomori. It is next to the Mount Hakkoda of Oirase Mountain Stream, so it is also favored by the poetおおまち けいげつ. The wooden structure has strong sense of history. The time for bathing in hot spring will be adjusted for male and female guests in "久安之湯". Male and female guests are separated in "泉響之湯".
