It has been announced that the train will cease operation around March 2024. The SL Hitoyoshi is a train pulled by the oldest active steam locomotive in Japan, which is over 100 years old. There was only one other group of passengers from Tosu Station to Kumamoto Station. We enjoyed a luxurious, almost private steam locomotive trip. I haven't experienced a steam locomotive trip since I was a child. I was surprised that it was almost a private trip. I don't know much about trains, but the conductor explained that the SL Hitoyoshi departing from Tosu Station is pulled by a diesel car, so it's inevitably less popular. It's a shame to be able to experience such a luxurious trip. It was a valuable experience, so I will post about the inside of the train and the food separately.
