No Hiking Experience? Bromo Is Still Doable!

Mount Bromo is definitely one of the destination for beginners or non-hikers looking for an adventure in Indonesia. Depending on where you stay, the tour typically starts at 2am in the morning with jeep ride to the sunrise viewpoint. It’s a bumpy ride in the dark but fret not, the drivers are really experienced and know the terrain at the back of their hand. Warm clothings are recommended for those who are really afraid of the cold. If not, a normal jacket will do :) Once you arrive, you'll find plenty of small local stalls and food vendors ready to satisfy an empty stomach. It's a great chance to warm up with a hot drink or enjoy a quick bite before starting the short walk up to the sunrise viewpoint. The walk to the sunrise viewpoint takes around 10–15 minutes at a relaxed pace, making it manageable even for slower walkers or those not used to hiking. Even though it’s still dark during the walk, it’s easy to navigate by following the crowd or simply using a phone flashlight to light the way. Overall, Bromo offers stunning views with minimal physical effort — perfect for first-time explorers!
