Daqi Mountain National Forest Park

Daqi Mountain National Forest Park is located in Tonglu County, Hangzhou City, and is a comprehensive national forest park that integrates natural scenery, forest vegetation, streams and waterfalls, and cultural landscapes. Daqi Mountain, also known as 'Saiji Mountain,' is historically known as 'the first famous mountain in the south of the Yangtze River.' The area is characterized by overlapping green mountains, deep canyons, dense shade that blocks out the sun, babbling streams, and is adorned with lush forests, bamboo groves, and fertile fields. It is a picturesque place, where one can feel as if they have 'stolen half a day of leisure from life.' Main attractions (follow the signs along the path in the park, and you can pass by): 1. Bamboo Path to Seclusion: Soon after entering the park, you can see a large bamboo forest, with its deep green tranquility and lushness. There is a winding path through the bamboo garden, and as visitors follow the path into Daqi Mountain, they are reminded of the poetic line 'A winding path leads to a secluded spot, where a Zen house is hidden deep in flowers and trees,' hence the name 'Bamboo Path to Seclusion.' 2. Educated Youth Canal: This canal was built by educated youths who were sent down to the area for drinking water, hence the name 'Educated Youth Canal.' Walking here, you can see a stone dam ahead, which is the Heavenly Pool. The mountain springs converge and store water to form a large pond, with water so clear it turns blue-green. On this high mountainside, the fish and aquatic plants at the bottom of the water are clearly visible. 3. Daqi Waterfall (Pictures 12-14): A 25-meter-high mountain spring pours down, with a thunderous sound echoing through the valley. The water hits the rocks at the foot of the mountain, creating a spectacular scene of flying beads and splashing jade. 4. Tea House and Jinniu Pool (Picture 15): The tea house is built in a wooden structure and is built next to the tea garden. In front of the tea house, there is an ancient and primitive water sky bridge and a Jinniu Pool with a magical legend. It is said that once there was a water buffalo spirit cultivating in the mountains. One day, he quietly stole a willow leaf from Guanyin's clean bottle, hoping to become an immortal soon. In his haste, he swallowed the willow leaf and turned into a golden buffalo. After the incident, he was punished by Guanyin to manage water in Shijingyuan and rest in the pool at night. Hence, the Jinniu Pool got its name.
