Tonglu Caotu Homestay, your dreamy pastoral retreat!

During my trip back to Hangzhou, I spent a weekend checking out this popular homestay in Tonglu, about 1 hour's drive from the West Lake District and approximately 3 hours from Shanghai. After exiting the highway, the winding mountain road leads up to the parking area P, as indicated by the signs. Pushing open the small gate, you're greeted by the stunning sight of the homestay perched on the edge of a mountaintop cliff. The homestay boasts a 2000 square meter lawn facing the endless mountain ranges, enjoying a rather nice geographical location. The minimalist industrial design features a combination of glass and concrete, creating a sense of desolate beauty. The circular pool in the lobby and the overlapping arch design make for great photo opportunities. Walking up the spiral staircase, every corner is picture-perfect. It's no wonder that stars like Amber Kuo and Zhao Liying have been attracted to visit and take photos. The room (Sirius) was booked a week in advance, and since there aren't many, I could only get one on a relatively lower floor. Upon opening the door, you're met with a vista of greenery, and the 180° wrap-around floor-to-ceiling glass is impressive, seemingly bringing the vast mountain scenery right into the room. Stepping out onto the terrace, you can hear the sounds of insects and birds in the mountains and feel the spring breeze on your face, which is quite pleasant. However, it's often difficult to find a place that's both beautiful and comfortable to stay in. Perhaps in an effort to maintain a minimalist style, the room amenities are too basic, making it feel empty. There's no TV, and I suggest installing a screen projector. The lack of a door or shower curtain in the bathroom is quite baffling, and the bed is a bit too soft haha, I didn't sleep well all night =_=. I hope they take more guests' feedback into account and make some improvements in the living experience, especially considering the price is quite high for a homestay. The housekeeper is very thoughtful, providing handmade mosquito repellent cream upon check-in, along with breakfast and afternoon tea, which can be enjoyed on the lawn camping area.
