Does everyone know the name? I went to the World Heritage Site, Tomioka Silk Mill!

Tomioka Silk Mill. I'm sure many of you remember the name from school. I was curious to see where it was and what it was like, so I went to see it! It's located in Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture, and is a 10-minute walk from Joshu Tomioka Station, so it's very accessible! It has a historic feel, and the silk mill and surrounding buildings are made of wood and red brick, so the atmosphere of 1872 is still preserved. I was moved to be able to experience the lives of the people at that time and their precious daily lives. On the tour, we went inside the factory and the guide gave us an explanation, which was very educational. Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm. The admission fee was 1,000 yen. (As of October 2022) There is value in being a World Heritage Site, and I thought it was worth visiting at least once. If you're in the area, please stop by!
