Zojoji Temple @Tokyo

Zojojo temple is a Japanese Buddhism temple in Tokyo, Kanto Region. Standing next to Tokyo Tower, this temple has impressive structure and design. The main entrance gate, the Sangedatsumon, is very strong and has survived many fires and earthquakes. This temple was built in 1393, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of the most powerful men in the Edo period, chose this temple as his family temple. Behind the temple complex is Tokugawa and the family mausoleum, which includes six tombs. The temple is open from 6 am to 5.30 pm daily, with free admission. A small fee applies to enter Tokugawa Mausoleum and Museum. Subway stations nearby are Onarimon and Sibakoen, Daimon Station, or 10-minute walk from Hamamatsuchon station.
