Art Resonates with the City — A New Cultural Experience at Kyobashi's "Artizon Museum" and TODA BUILDING

Located in Kyobashi, Tokyo, the "Artizon Museum" is a modern art museum that reopened in 2020, succeeding the former Bridgestone Museum of Art. True to its name, derived from "Art" + "Horizon," it serves as a place to pioneer new horizons in art, hosting a variety of exhibitions focused mainly on modern and contemporary art from Japan and abroad. Current exhibitions include a special show featuring works by Swiss avant-garde artists Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Jean Arp, as well as an exhibition spotlighting the works of Inosuke Maso. Highlights from the Ishibashi Foundation Collection are also on display, offering visitors a rich artistic experience. Adjacent to the Artizon Museum, the "TODA BUILDING" is a new cultural complex that opened in 2024, serving as an art hub with galleries and event spaces. One of the building’s distinctive initiatives is art events held in the entrance lobby and corridors on the first floor. For example, "APK PUBLIC Vol.1," running from November 2, 2024, to March 2026, offers visitors new perspectives through art exhibitions in public spaces.   Additionally, various solo exhibitions by different artists are held in the galleries within TODA BUILDING. From March 22 to May 2, 2025, the KOSAKU KANECHIKA Gallery will showcase Hiroto Tomonaga’s "Lightning," while during the same period, the Tomio Koyama Gallery Kyobashi will present Richard Tuttle’s "San, Shi, Go."  In this way, the Artizon Museum and TODA BUILDING provide a new cultural experience where art and urban space merge.
