5 Things You Need to Know Before Visiting teamLab Planets

1. Book your tickets in advance through trip.com (visiting at night is more beautiful) 2. Avoid wearing short skirts as there are mirror rooms with reflective floors that can reveal your underwear ❌ 3. Do not wear stockings as there are wet zones where you have to walk through water, and it's difficult to remove stockings ❌ 4. No flash photography allowed, and you can only bring your phone with you (they provide free lockers for storing your belongings) 5. Eat before you go as it is located outside the city and there are no food options available

We were undecided between the planets and borderless options but opted for planets since we heard it was more engaging. It's important to arrive at your designated time because the schedule is organized to prevent overcrowding in certain areas, which you'll find handy in some rooms, so adjust your timing if needed. We visited around 11am, which was ideal, though perhaps an earlier visit would have been even better. The venue has four zones, all cleverly arranged. Free lockers and restrooms are readily available, and the overall organization is excellent. The experience includes many vast themed rooms; some allow you to interact with the setups, while others have unique flooring like hills, water, and ramps—truly amazing. It's such a distinctive and enjoyable adventure. We went as a couple, but it's also great for a family outing, given the abundance of activities. The staff is very helpful and will guide you if you feel disoriented. For us, it was a fantastic way to spend around 2 hours. It's conveniently located with a metro just across the street. However, there's not much else to explore nearby aside from the fish market, so consider combining both on the same day to enjoy the various food options, as there aren't many at team land. Definitely recommend!

We visited for my son's birthday and had a memorable time. Online glimpses didn't do justice to the real experience. Of the four areas, one was a vast flower zone, which we only spent about 20 minutes in. The water and remaining sections held our attention for over four hours. The reflections, sounds, and lights were truly mesmerising. When fish swim into you in the water, they transform into flowers. Some rooms were dark with 360-degree experiences that left us feeling like we were falling, though the kids enjoyed it. The ball room was the least impressive. Another section let you color pictures, scan them, and see them animated on the wall, or squash creatures by stepping on them. There was also a zone for catching dinosaurs using an app with nets or shooting them. While the experience was overall positive, there were minor drawbacks. Food options were limited, with only one vendor offering little we wanted to eat, located outside under the sun with no AC. Bringing your own food and water is advisable. The queue was mostly in direct sunlight, except the last 20 minutes. Although we downloaded the team lab app, additional apps were needed for activities, which was frustrating despite free WiFi. Nonetheless, it was one of the best experiences in Japan and arguably globally. Absolutely worth the cost for four hours of fun.
