[Kagurazaka Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine/Tokyo] Founded as a prayer for victory by Minamoto no Yoritomo

Kagurazaka Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine in Shinjuku, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Minamoto no Yoritomo prayed for victory in order to conquer Fujiwara no Yasuhira of Oshu. When this prayer was granted, the Wakamiya shrine of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu was enshrined there. It was founded in 1189! The deities enshrined are Emperor Nintoku and Emperor Ojin. It's not large, but the grounds are well-maintained. There is an apartment building nearby, and the shrine office is on the first floor, where I received a goshuin (red seal) written by hand.
