Tokyo's long-established sukiyaki restaurant, Asakusa Imahan, is located near the Nakamise shopping street by Senso-ji Temple, always bustling with a queue of customers. The branch on Kokusai Street is relatively easier to get into, but the quality is uncompromised! I tried my luck at around 5:30 in the evening and, to my surprise, got a seat immediately. They arranged a 4-person table just for me, which was incredibly lucky! The staff kindly handed me a warm towel to clean my hands. I ordered an 8,800 yen sukiyaki set meal and beer, which started with a delicate Japanese cold dish and pickles to fill the stomach in preparation for the main event: Wagyu sukiyaki! The marbling and fat of the Wagyu beef were absolutely luscious. The staff will demonstrate by dipping a slice for you, then you eat it with egg dip. The moment it enters your mouth, it feels like it melts away. The tender Wagyu, the sweet sauce, and the smooth egg blend together perfectly, creating a delicious and satisfying experience.
