[Tokyo/Shoin Shrine] A shrine dedicated to the late Edo period educator Yoshida Shoin

3 minutes walk from Shoinjinjamae Station on the Tokyu Setagaya Line. The black torii gate is symbolic. Yoshida Shoin was an educator who taught many famous people. One of his disciples was executed at the young age of 30, and so he was enshrined here! There is a replica of the Shokasonjuku school in Yamaguchi Prefecture within the temple grounds, and you can see inside.
