A Chill Long Weekend from Singapore — Healing Vibes on Tioman Island 🌴🌊

#springitinerary Finally checked off my long-awaited bucket list spot, Tioman Island! For many tourists, this is a bit of a hidden gem, but for diving lovers, it’s an absolute must-visit destination. Getting there: You can book a direct bus from Singapore to Mersing, then grab a ferry ticket from Mersing to Tioman. There are two ferry operators: Bluewater and Canferry. Canferry’s boats are nicer but a bit pricier, so choose based on your preference. Where to stay: We stayed at Berjaya Resort — moderately priced, the rooms are a little old but the wooden chalet style keeps the original rustic charm. It’s surrounded by a private beach, which is a big plus! Food: The buffet at Berjaya itself wasn’t great, but just outside the resort is a Chinese seafood restaurant run by locals. The prices were reasonable and the flavors really hit the spot for us. Activities: The hotel lobby has a travel agency offering snorkeling packages. I picked one for around RM130 (might be a bit off on price, so please double-check), which included visits to six dive spots. We snorkeled from around 9 AM until 3 PM, stopping for lunch at Salang. Totally worth it! The boat had about 12 people, which felt comfortable. Much better than other trips where 20 people cram into one boat. Given the soaring airfares over long weekends, Tioman is perfect for a spontaneous getaway — pristine seas, cozy resort vibes, and options for a day full of activities or just chilling by the hotel.
