The Maijishan Grottoes have been shining for over 1,600 years.

In the rich autumn colors, the famous Maijishan Grottoes exude an ancient charm, and the scenery is breathtaking. The grottoes were first built during the Later Qin period of the Sixteen Kingdoms, and have a history of more than 1,600 years. There are 221 caves, 3,938 statues, 10,632 figures, and many exquisite murals. The statues reflect the characteristics of the statue art of the past dynasties for more than a thousand years. Together with the Mogao Grottoes, Longmen Grottoes, and Yungang Grottoes, they are known as the four major grottoes in China and are treasures of Chinese civilization.
