Tianjin: An Easy 30-Minute Walking Route for European-Style Street Photography

After visiting Tianjin three times, I've put together a guide to a walking route that avoids the popular spots and allows you to easily capture European-style street photos. In just 30 minutes, you can photograph many European historical buildings. It's not crowded, the street views are beautiful, it's not tiring to walk, and the photos turn out great. 📷1 The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Lobby The staircases on both sides and the sofa waiting area under the large oil paintings are all in the Victorian style. 📷2 Gordon Hall Ruins (Former British Municipal Council) Located on the east side of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, it has a medieval castle style. 📷3 Jiefangbei Garden (Former Victoria Park) Walk southeast along Jiefang North Road for about 2 minutes. 📷4 Astor Hotel Museum Located across the street from Jiefangbei Garden. 📷5 Former Kailuan Mining Bureau Building Walk west along Tai'an Road for about 3 minutes. 📷6 Former Site of the British Consulate Residence Across the street from the former Kailuan Mining Bureau Building is the former British Consulate Residence. 📷7 Anglican Arts Center (Former Site of All Saints Church) Next to the former site of the British Consulate Residence is the Anglican Arts Center, formerly an Anglican church, in the Gothic Revival style. 📷8, 9 North and South Sides of the Daguangming Bridge Walk south along Zhejiang Road, where the Anglican Arts Center is located, and walk along Qufu Road for about 10 minutes (500m) to reach the Daguangming Bridge. The west side of the bridge is suitable for photographing the sculptures on the bridge that represent the sun, moon, and stars. The east side of the bridge is suitable for photographing the chariot goddess sculpture under the bridge with the Roman columns as a frame. Tips Tianjin's Five Avenues, Xiaobailou, and the Italian Style Town are very suitable for taking European street-style photos, but they are often crowded. The historical building block on Jiefang North Road is undergoing overall road and facade renovation, making it inconvenient to pass through. Therefore, I rediscovered and summarized the street photography route around the southern end of Jiefang North Road, Tai'an Road, and Zhejiang Road. The best time for portrait photography is in the morning, as most of the buildings face southeast, and it is easy to have backlight in the afternoon. Outfit suggestions: European sweet style, casual trench coat, or black and white art style.
