#europetrip The glacier hike we took from the Skaftafell area of the park was, hands down, the most memorable activity of our entire #europetrip. Suiting up with crampons and ice axes, and walking out onto the blue-white surface of the Falljökull outlet glacier felt truly otherworldly. Our guide was professional, prioritizing safety while sharing fascinating insights into the glacier's geology, movement, and the stark reality of climate change. Seeing the deep crevasses, ice ridges, and small meltwater pools up close is an experience you can’t get anywhere else in Europe. Even for a beginner, the moderate hike was manageable, and the feeling of standing on a mile-thick mass of ancient ice is unforgettable. An absolute mandatory experience for any adventure traveler visiting Iceland.
