Mazu New Village: Revisiting After Three Years

It's been three years since my last visit to Mazu New Village. This time, it feels like stepping into an entirely new space. While the familiar military dependents' village atmosphere remains, the overall environment has become more vibrant, especially with the influx of cultural and creative industries, making this place more than just a repository of historical memories. Three years ago, Mazu New Village left an impression of nostalgia. Walking into the village, the old houses, red brick walls, and vintage window grilles made one feel as if they had traveled back in time to an era filled with the essence of a military dependents' village. This time, in addition to the original historical buildings and exhibition halls, more cultural and creative brands and unique shops have settled in, enriching the cultural layers of this place. Strolling through Mazu New Village this time, it is evident that it is undergoing a transformation. Although the past history is still well-preserved, the exhibition halls converted from old houses still allow people to understand the life of the military dependents' village that once existed here.
