Visit Peace Park: The Ancient Battlefield of the 1884 Sino-French War

#2月好地方2025 It is located near the Huwei Fort in Tamsui District and was officially opened in 2011. The area around Huwei Fort was originally an ancient battlefield during the Sino-French War in 1884. After more than 120 years of transformation, it has now been transformed into a park with a peaceful and lush forest landscape. It was also named "Peace Park" to pray for peace and to commemorate the soldiers and civilians who died in the war. The park as a whole has a Japanese garden style, and is equipped with trails, barrier-free pedestrian systems, viewing pavilions, monuments and other facilities. The complete facilities are gradually becoming a new tourist and recreational attraction in the Tamsui area. Figures 18-19 are the visitor center, introducing the One Drop of Water Memorial Hall. Next to the visitor center (Figure 20) is the entrance to the One Drop of Water Memorial Hall. Peace Park was originally used as a nursery for the greening team of the Tamsui cleaning team.
