Have You Tried BOTOK BOTOK?

Botok Botok is a specialty dish in Johor and i got the opportunity to try it first time in Batu Pahat (2hours away from JB) where they served this dish as part of lunch meal course. 📍Then i found a shop in Johor Bahru that sell this flavorful traditional dish, “Botok Botok Ibunda JB”! This shop have few types of Botok Botok include fish, chicken and roe. I attached their menus which can be seen in the photos👆🏻 I purchased Botok-Botok steamed fish and roe, and both are totally delicious! 😋 Plus point; Eat with Rice! 🌟Botok Botok is a dish made of a mixture of vegetables (ulam-ulaman), fish, chili, and coconut flesh, and the combination of the ingredients is then traditionally wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. 🐟 The kind of fish use are usually spanish mackerels (tenggiri) or chub mackerels (kembung).
