[Kochi] Wakai Submerged Bridge

#Spring0yenTrip I visited "Wakai Submerged Bridge" in Shimanto Town! This submerged bridge is a concrete bridge over a tributary of the Shimanto River, and is unique in that it is submerged when the water level rises. There are no handrails, so I was a little nervous at first, but the view from the bridge was amazing, and the flow of the river and the surrounding greenery were soothing. The surrounding area has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, and it feels like time is flowing slowly. It was a wonderful spot where you can feel the nature of the Shimanto River up close. It is rarely crowded with tourists, and you can see local people passing by on bicycles and in cars. It is a photogenic view, so it is recommended to take a stroll with a camera in hand. It is convenient to access by car, but it is also within walking distance from Wakai Station, so it is also perfect for stopping by during a train trip. This is a hidden gem recommended for those who want to be soothed by the nature of the Shimanto River!
