If you come to Taiyuan for the weekend

Spend two days and one night like this, and I believe you will fall in love with this ancient city with a history of over 2500 years! Overall Itinerary Day1 (Saturday) Morning: Taiyuan Northern Qi Dynasty Mural Museum Afternoon: Jinci Museum Evening: Old Military Camp Snack Street Day2 (Sunday) Morning: Shanxi Merchants Museum Afternoon: Old City Area City Walk (refer to the previous article) ps: The afternoon itinerary can be replaced with the Shanxi Museum (I've been there twice before, highly recommended). Recommended Places: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Taiyuan Northern Qi Dynasty Mural Museum P2-P4 The entire venue is built on the original site of Xu Xianshou's tomb from the Northern Qi Dynasty, divided into three sections: Jiuyuangang Tomb (Exhibition Hall 1), Xu Xianshou's Tomb (Exhibition Hall 2), and Lou Rui's Tomb & Shuiquanliang Tomb (Exhibition Hall 3). The main focus is Xu Xianshou's Tomb, where you can see the complete tomb site (although you cannot enter the tomb), and the classic silhouette photo spot is also here (P4). However, my personal favorite is Exhibition Hall 1's Jiuyuangang Tomb, which, compared to the other tombs' murals that display scenes of the tomb owner's daily life, also includes a large number of mythical stories, especially legends from the 'Classic of Mountains and Seas'. Interested friends can try to find my favorite 'Lord of the Winds', a man dressed in red bitter tea who is nearly naked and in charge of the wind (top picture on P3), I even found his cultural and creative product at the visitor center (only one kind)... The best part of this trip 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Jinci Museum P5-P6 Located in the southwest corner of Taiyuan, a bit far from the city center, the Jinci scenic area includes Jinci Museum + Tianlong Mountain (due to limited time, only visited Jinci). Jinci was built to commemorate the first feudal lord of the Jin state, Tang Shuyu, and his mother, and can be considered the origin of Taiyuan city. Because the 1986 version of 'Journey to the West' was filmed here, many friends have recently fallen in love with taking comparison photos here. Near the exit, there is also the newly built Jin Wen Gong Art Museum (an important figure in the division of Jin into three), not much in terms of collections, mainly to see the architecture, suitable for taking photos in ancient costumes. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Shanxi Merchants Museum P7 The former office location of the Shanxi Provincial Committee, where you can learn about the history of Shanxi merchants, refer to the previous article for details. 🌟🌟🌟 Da Guandi Temple P8 The largest of the four Guandi temples in the old city area. It's part of my personal Old City Area City Walk itinerary (Shanxi Merchants Museum - Food Street - Da Guandi Temple - Grandma Temple - Zhonglou Street - Liuxiang) refer to the previous article for details. 👨‍🍳 How to eat in Taiyuan?? Shanxi, as a transitional area between the grasslands and the Central Plains, has a mixed diet of both. After eating for two days, here are 3 recommended restaurants, go to all of them! 1️⃣ Hedong Yixiang Pavilion P9: Opposite to Maoye World, a restaurant, the queue is very exaggerated, be sure to go early. Highly recommend the mahjong tripe. 2️⃣ Hao Ganggang Sheep Offal P10: Liuxiang, a small restaurant, recommended sheep offal soup (or mutton soup) + cilantro green onion + pepper powder + chili oil. 3️⃣ Chayuanhou Baozi P11: Nanxiaowall, a small restaurant, recommended zucchini egg shrimp buns, all freshly wrapped and steamed.
