Taiyuan Beilin Park - Viewing Fu Shan's Calligraphy

📺 On this trip to Taiyuan, whether at Jinci or in the Twin Pagoda Park, one name always appears before my eyes, and that is Fu Shan. I didn't know much about Mr. Fu Shan before, but after arriving in Taiyuan, I learned that Mr. Fu Shan was a great thinker from Taiyuan. He not only had unique insights in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, but he also achieved great success in calligraphy and painting. It can be said that anything he took a liking to would turn out to be extraordinary, as he was an extremely intelligent person. At the same time, he lived during the chaotic times of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and his national integrity and patriotic enthusiasm are also admirable. No wonder the people of Taiyuan are proud of him. ✔️ After paying respects to the Yanqiu Stone by the Fen River, there is a piece of classical garden architecture across the road, named Beilin Park, whose main part is the Fu Shan Stele Forest, with an admission fee of only 2 yuan. ✔️ The park is divided into two parts, one located at the main entrance, which is the north gate, named the Fu Shan Stele Forest, and the other part located in the backyard, named the Sanjin Stele Forest. The Fu Shan Stele Forest contains 146 pieces of Fu Shan's calligraphy works, covering all five major script types, while the Sanjin Stele Forest houses 181 pieces of calligraphy works from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the Shanxi region. ✔️ Entering the park, it is indeed full of pavilions, artificial mountains and waterside pavilions, and carved beams and painted rafters, with charming scenery. Various steles are scattered throughout the garden, and each stone inscription is accompanied by a translation. If one calms down and studies them carefully, it would take several days. I chose a few that looked a bit more special, and while touring the garden, I slowly appreciated them, which was quite elegant. However, the park is located right next to the city's expressway, and without sound barriers, the noise from the road is quite loud, which somewhat disturbs the elegance of the garden experience. ✔️ In order to plan and build this stele forest, the local cultural workers in Taiyuan have put a lot of thought into it. They traveled everywhere, collecting Mr. Fu Shan's works scattered around the world, and carefully organized them, engraving them on stones for long-term preservation, and also allowing the general public to have the opportunity to appreciate the master's works. ✔️ There is also a Zhonghua Fu Shan Garden built in the north of Taiyuan city, which is also Mr. Fu Shan's hometown.
