Taipei Dining Restaurant - Xinyi New World - Wildwood Grilled Steakhouse

Originally planned to enjoy some meat for Mid-Autumn Festival, we chose Wildwood in the Xinyi District shopping area. However, we didn't realize this place specializes in grilling, not barbecue, until we arrived. It was quite different from what we imagined 😂. Seems like our eyes weren't sharp enough. For the dinner set, we ordered the Short Ribs & Surf and Turf Combo, Ribeye Filet, and Prawn Steak Set. The set includes appetizers, soup, dessert, and drinks. Water (or sparkling water) is charged separately, just like in foreign countries. 🔸 Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi (Recommended) 🔸 Artichoke and Octopus The octopus in the salad was too tough for our liking, but the scallops paired with sweet citrus and kumquat soy sauce were very refreshing. 🔸 Seafood Chowder (Recommended) 🔸 Corn Chowder Both soups were delicious, but the seafood chowder had a richer flavor profile, with ingredients like fish, shrimp, and clams. The soups also came with toasted croutons, adding a nice crunch. 🔸 Crispy Soft-Shell Crab (Recommended) 🔸 Crispy Squid (Recommended) The appetizers were all fried dishes and generally satisfying. The red bell pepper sauce and egg yolk sauce complemented them well. 🔸 Short Ribs (Recommended) 🔸 Ribeye Filet & Jumbo Prawn I love beef, and the ingredients used here were excellent 👍🏻. The medium and medium-rare steaks had a tender pink hue without any blood. Whether eaten plain, with salt, or with Argentinian chimichurri, the meat was juicy and flavorful, with its aroma lingering in the mouth. 🔸 Basque Cheesecake 🔸 Caramel Crème Brûlée The desserts were standard. Unfortunately, the presentation was not particularly special, resembling that of a typical chain steakhouse. At this price point, it felt less impressive. 🔸 Black Tea & Orange Juice The black tea was unsweetened and not bitter, while the orange juice had an enticing aroma that you could smell upon entering the restaurant, making you want to order a glass (+60 TWD 😂).
