This trip to Taipei and New Taipei with a 4-year-old child has selected a few attractions that are suitable for parent-child fun and full of characteristics. The route design focuses on parent-child interaction, beautiful photography and exploration of nature, so the whole family can easily enjoy the wonderful time in Taipei’s city and countryside. Itinerary: Taipei Municipal Zoo (morning) > Cat Sky Cable Car (after lunch) > Taipei 101 Observation Deck (afternoon) > Yehliu Geopark (next day outing) Taipei Municipal Zoo Address: No. 30, Section 2, Xinguang Road, Wenshan District, Taipei Opening Hours: 09:00 - 17:00 (last entry 16:00) Tickets: 22.0 The zoo is oversized and you can easily see popular animals such as elephants, giraffes, and pandas with your children. The park has parent-child washrooms and a rest area, which is very convenient and clean. The animal feeding area is very popular with children. It is recommended to reserve 2-3 hours, every weekend there is a little more crowd, it is recommended to go early to avoid queuing. Cat Sky Cable Car Address: No. 8, Section 2, Xinguang Road, Wenshan District, Taipei Business Hours: 09:00 - 21:00 (Monday, Saturday & Sunday only) Tickets: 69.0 The cable car station is within walking distance from the zoo and the kids are excited to board the crystal glass-bottomed carriage! Along the way, you can see the mountain view of Wenshan and the tea garden. There are several tea restaurants at the Cat Air Station at the end. It is very chill for parents and children to gather together to enjoy tea. The whole journey is safe, and there are guide boards at the stops on the way for fun and learning. Taipei 101 Observation Deck Address: 89F, No. 7, Section 5, Xinyi Road, Xinyi District, Taipei Opening Hours: 10:00 - 21:00 (last entry 20:15) Tickets: 140.0 Recommended in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. A quick lift directly to the sky, the 89th floor overlooking the panoramic view of Taipei City, children jump with excitement! The viewing platform features interactive games and photo booths, simple English/Chinese introductions, and educational and entertaining. It is recommended to bring a light stroller for smoother movement inside the venue, however it is windy outdoors and be sure to take care of your children. Yehliu Geopark Address: 167-1 Yeliuligang East Road, Wanli District, New Taipei City Opening Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 (last entry 17:00) Tickets: 27.0 The next day it is recommended to take transportation to New Taipei, Yehliu must see the "Queen's Head" strange rock, children can learn geological knowledge and enjoy the natural scenery. The park trails are flat and suitable for parents and children. There are plenty of photo spots, but the wind is stronger, prepare a windbreaker hat. There are shops and snacks nearby for easy resupply. The park is not too big, 1.5-2 hours is enough. Practical tips: 1. Early arrival is recommended for all attractions to avoid queues, especially the zoo and 101. 2. Wild Willow Geopark needs to be aware of strong coastal winds and children need to wear jackets. 3. The Cat Air Cable Car is not open on weekdays. Remember to schedule your visit on Mondays or weekends. 4. If your child needs a nap, bring a folding stroller. 5. The zoo park is large, it is recommended to download the map and plan the route to avoid taking the wrong path. This parent-child Taipei New Taipei route is definitely suitable for taking children out, integrating fun, education, natural beauty, plus a few more beautiful spots to take pictures, satisfying the whole family. When it comes to going to Taipei, many people think of Taipei 101 at the first time! This iconic landmark is not only a photo hotspot, its towering appearance coupled with the atmosphere when it is lit up at night makes me think when I look at 101: "It's really beautiful!" Whether in the morning or dusk, there are different visual enjoyments Taipei 101 looking up super shocking photo essential Walking to Xinyi District, you can see the Taipei 101 Building in the distance. Its presence is really bursting! Looking up from the bottom, you can feel the grandeur of the building, but also take a variety of looking up photos. It's very city-like📸. If you want to get an unmanned angle, you can go earlier (open from 10:00), the crowd is not so much in the morning, you don't have to dodge left and right to take pictures. Inventory of Taipei 101 fun highlights 1. Look up and check in (must do) According to my personal experience, the most beautiful photo spot must be the intersection of Xinyi Road and Song Chi Road, the whole building and the sky together into the mirror, plus the nearby city view, the texture instantly improved! It is recommended to shoot with a wide-angle lens for a more complete composition. 2. Taipei 101 Observation Deck Most people will not miss going up to the 89th floor observation deck, almost 360 degrees overlooking Taipei City, simple interior design, high-rise views. Remember to check the weather again before going up. Clear sky is great for night scenes, low cloud days may not be so clear. 📍Address: 89th Floor, No. 7, Section 5, Xinyi Road, Taipei ⏰Business Hours: 10:00-21:00 year-round 3. Shopping at Taipei 101 Mall The ground to the upper floors are Shopping paradise, with brands, boutiques, ice cream and dessert shops from all over the world. 4. Downstairs Food Street Explore Taipei 101 Food Street has a super wide selection, whether you like Taiwanese snacks or international cuisine, there is sure to be one to suit your taste. I recommend "Ding Tai Fung" steamed buns and "Chun Shui Tong" bubble milk tea the most. They are worth eating once during the holidays! Trip Tips & Practical Tips The biggest feeling after going this time is: Taipei 101 looking up is really beautiful, photography does not need to talk more naturally out of the video! If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend going before 3pm on weekdays, with really long queues on weekends and public holidays. It is more convenient to buy tickets online in advance for the observation deck. - Seriously remember: the best weather is up to the 89th floor observation deck! Go at night and many lights, the whole Taipei night view is unbeatable - If you don't want to walk through the mall crowded, you can consider taking hipster photos at the "44 South Village" next to it Conclusion Tips Access: One minute walk from the MRT Xinyi Line "Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station" exit Food recommendations: Must-try Ding Tai Fung, Chun Shui Tang, or the Japanese dessert shops below Tip: Taipei is humid, remember to bring an umbrella during the rainy season, check the weather app before taking pictures #Taipei 101 Guide #Xinyi District Photo #Taiwan Travel #Observation Deck View #Food Recommendation

🚆 Getting There To reach Shifen Waterfall, we booked the package from Trip.com (one day tour). All of us you gather at Taipei Station to board to bus for our tour. From there, it’s about a 40-50 minute to reach the destination. 📐 Size & Structure The falls drop about 20 meters and span about 40 meters in width, making Shifen the widest waterfall in Taiwan. It has a horseshoe-curved drop and powerful flow, creating mist, echoing water sounds, and sometimes rainbows in the spray. 👣 Walking & Viewing Around the waterfall there are multiple viewing platforms from both high elevation and close up, including suspension bridges like the Siguangtan and Guanpu Bridges. Paths are well-marked, and there are gentle walks along the river trail. 🕒 Opening Hours & Entry Summer (June-September): roughly 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, last entry about 5:30 PM Rest of the Year (October-May): about 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, last entry around 4:30 PM Admission is free. 🌿 Best Times & Tips Early morning is better to beat crowds. Rainy season brings more volume of water, which makes the falls more dramatic—and mistier (good for photo rainbows). Wear good walking shoes—the trail includes steps, some slopes, and suspension bridges. 🍜 Nearby Attractions & Extras Shifen Old Street: a charming old town right next to the train line, with shops, street food, and sky-lantern sellers. Lantern releasing is a popular activity in Shifen (though with concerns about environmental impact). Small eateries/stalls nearby where you can try local Taiwanese snacks. #ShifenWaterfall #TaiwanNiagara #PingxiLine #ShifenOldStreet #WaterfallViews #TaiwanNature #TravelTaiwan #ExploreNewTaipei #RainbowFalls #HiddenGemsTaiwan
