A Glimpse into the Taipei Palace Museum's 700,000 Artifacts

The Taipei Palace Museum, also known as the National Palace Museum, is one of Taiwan's most famous museums and a world-renowned museum of ancient art. Its architectural style imitates the palatial architecture of the Beijing Palace Museum, dignified and elegant, rich in national characteristics. The Taipei Palace Museum was founded in 1962 and officially opened in 1965. The museum's artifacts mainly come from the former imperial collections of the Beijing Palace Museum, Shenyang Palace Museum, Chengde Mountain Resort, and Summer Palace. These artifacts have survived wars and relocations and are now well-preserved in Taiwan. The Taipei Palace Museum has a rich collection, covering bronze ware, ceramics, jade, calligraphy and painting, ancient books and documents, and many other fields, including many rare treasures. 1️⃣ Jadeite Cabbage: A jade carving from the Qing Dynasty. The jade cabbage symbolizes "purity" and is an iconic exhibit of the Taipei Palace Museum. 2️⃣ Meat-shaped Stone: A naturally formed stone, named for its resemblance to a piece of fatty meat, showcasing the wonders of nature. 3️⃣ Mao-kung Tin: A bronze ware from the late Western Zhou Dynasty. The inside of the tripod is cast with a long inscription, recording the historical facts of the beginning of King Xuan of Zhou's reign, which has important historical value. 4️⃣ "Early Spring": A work by the Northern Song Dynasty painter Guo Xi, showcasing the unique charm of ancient Chinese landscape painting. 5️⃣ Northern Song Ru Ware Celadon Narcissus Basin: Ru ware was the official kiln of the Huizong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, famous for its sky-blue glaze.
