Discovering the Charm of Beitou’s Hot Spring Culture

#chinatrip One of the highlights of my Taiwan trip was visiting the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, where I got to dive deep into the history of Taiwan’s hot spring culture. The museum, housed in a restored red-brick bathhouse, gives an insight into how Beitou became famous for its healing waters. The old bathing hall, with its stained-glass windows and intricate tilework, still holds the nostalgic charm of its past. Aside from the architecture, the museum also has displays of vintage bath essentials, traditional clothing, and even an area dedicated to the chemistry of hot springs. It was truly an eye-opening experience, showing how the simple act of bathing was a luxurious and communal tradition. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in Taiwan’s cultural heritage!
