Visit the historic Yifang Residence.

Yifang Residence is a traditional three-section compound located in Da'an District, Taipei City. Built in 1876 during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, it was the residence of Chen Chaolai. Situated on the outskirts of the Taipei Basin, it lies at the foot of the Toad Mountain, Fanglan Mountain, and Zhongpu Mountain. This three-section compound is a typical old house in the Taipei Basin, facing southeast and opening northwest with five rooms in the front. It is a representative example of the 'Anxi House' in northern Taiwan. The main entrance features a recessed design, with a brick-built protruding eaves structure known as 'Huokuqi,' giving it a grand yet delicate appearance. The thick brick and stone walls of the main hall and the left and right wings, along with the begonia-shaped and arched stone windows, enhance the antique ambiance.
