The Fusion of Old and New in Dihua Street?

It's been six years since I last visited Dihua Street. You can reach it from Beimen MRT Station. Taipei has been working hard to revitalize old buildings, including Huashan and Songshan Cultural and Creative Parks, but these are mostly led by large corporations. The transformation of Dihua Street is more about government assistance providing the groundwork. The old and new shops coexist harmoniously, preserving the original architectural features. The old shops also cooperate well with the renovations, while new shops bring in vitality. In the hot weather, strolling under the arcades feels comfortable. There are many unique coffee shops, boutique stores, and souvenir shops that can keep you occupied for more than half a day.
