Chimei Museum, located in Rende District, Tainan City, is the largest private Western art museum in Taiwan. The museum covers an area of 10 hectares and is combined with the 40 hectares of Tainan Metropolitan Park, making a total of 50 hectares. At the outdoor entrance of the museum, there is a fountain featuring Greek mythology. Moving forward, you will see 12 lifelike statues of Greek mythological figures standing on the European-style arched bridge. Beyond the arched bridge is the museum's front plaza, which is also a frequent venue for various events. The museum's exterior is designed in a Greek architectural style. Inside, the museum is divided into permanent exhibition halls and special exhibition halls. The permanent exhibition halls include the "Animal Hall," "Weapon Hall," "Art Hall," "Musical Instrument Hall," "Rodin Hall," and "Sculpture Avenue." The special exhibition halls regularly feature exhibitions by renowned artists from around the world, and an additional ticket is required to enter these special exhibitions. The museum also houses a collection of violins by Mr. Hsu Wen-Long, the founder of Chimei Corporation.
