Must-try BBQ in Taichung!

During my trip to Taichung, a local friend recommended a BBQ restaurant called "Tea Six BBQ Hall." When I arrived at the entrance, it looked incredibly grand, and I assumed it wouldn't be cheap. Looking at the menu, the price for a two-person set was around 2,000 TWD, and a three-person set was 3,500 TWD. Being used to Hong Kong BBQ prices, I thought this might not be enough to fill us up. To my surprise, when the food was served, it was astonishing! First came a three-tiered tray with chicken, duck, and pork. Each person got four pieces of each type of meat, and these were not thinly sliced pieces but large chunks of meat. The quality of the meat and seasoning was excellent, with no freezer taste from improperly thawed meat. The staff introduced the cooking time and eating method for each type of meat and even reminded us if we left it on the grill for too long—very professional. They served the dishes one by one, ensuring we finished one before bringing out the next. When the beef plate arrived, I immediately understood why Hong Kongers prefer spending money abroad. For the same price, this plate of beef would cost at least 600 HKD in Hong Kong. The beef was beautifully marbled, high-quality American beef, with each piece rich in flavor. Grilling for just 10-15 seconds was perfect. The meal also included beef tongue, shrimp, clams, Japanese sashimi-grade scallops, salad, grilled rice balls, kimchi, two drinks (the cola was served in a huge cup, almost impossible to finish), and dessert. By the end, we were so full that we had no appetite for late-night snacks—a first for me during a trip to Taiwan. The total bill for three people was only 4,050 TWD, averaging just over 300 HKD per person. You can't even get a buffet in Hong Kong for that price!
