For Du Fu's verse "I shall climb to the summit and see all other mountains dwarfed," I reached the top of Mount Tai. · Tai'an, this small city, is named after Mount Tai. Throughout history, many literati, poets, emperors, and generals have left their footprints here. One must experience it in their lifetime. Let me share my climbing experience and tips. · ⛰️【Climbing Preparation】 -Clothing: It is extremely hot in Tai'an in July. Be sure to wear light, sweat-absorbing, and sun-protective clothing. Whether climbing up or down, it consumes a lot of energy, and you will sweat a lot. Climbing during the day is very hot, with no shade around, making it uncomfortable. It's best to wear hiking shoes or sports shoes that are breathable and have soft soles. -Supplies: Try to minimize the equipment you carry. A sun hat is useful, but avoid using a parasol as it is heavy and cumbersome. If your physical strength allows, bring some water-rich fruits and vegetables like cucumbers and apples. Supplies on the mountain are expensive, but if you find it too heavy to carry, just bring some water. Those who sweat a lot can prepare some salt to replenish electrolytes, and functional drinks are also an option. You can prepare a hiking stick to save some energy. You will find that most people climbing up end up crawling with all fours as their legs give out. -Photography: Whether climbing up or down, it is very tiring, and many places are steep. A camera can feel like a burden, so a mobile phone will suffice. Drone photography is not allowed! ⛰️【Climbing Suggestions】 -Climbing Time: If you want to see the sunrise, sleep well the day before so you have the energy to start at night. Climbing at night doesn't require sun protection, and after watching the sunrise in the morning, you can take the cable car down as your energy will be depleted. For daytime climbing, refer to my suggestions and try to climb in the morning. It gets too hot in the afternoon. We took the cable car up and walked down bit by bit, but it was still exhausting. This is the saying, "It's easy to climb up but hard to climb down." -Stamina Maintenance: There are supply stations at intervals on the mountain, but prices are high. If you didn't bring enough, don't be stingy with money; your health is more important. Whether climbing up or down, remember it's a long battle. Walk slowly and steadily, don't rush, or your legs won't be able to take it. Especially when descending, it's hard to avoid calf pain, so take it easy. ⛰️【Personal Insights】 -After climbing Mount Tai, you'll feel like you can accomplish many things. This is the psychological reward of climbing. -If you want to climb Mount Tai, don't waste too much energy and strength on any attractions at the foot of the mountain.
