[Fukuoka] Tagawa City Coal Memorial Park: the site of coal mining that supported Japan's Industrial Revolution

#Spring0yentrip Tagawa City Coal Memorial Park was impressive because it still had the atmosphere of an old coal mine. The first thing I saw was the big chimney and tower. Both had a strong presence and were impressive, making me think, "They really mined here." There was also a statue of Tanko-bushi and a monument to a song on the premises, which made it clear that this area flourished as a coal mining town. At the museum, I also saw paintings by Sakubei Yamamoto, and I could feel the life and hardships of the people who worked in the coal mines from the paintings. I walked around feeling a little lonely, but imagining the vitality of those days. It was close to the station and easy to get to, and a great place to experience history. Above all, the contrast between the grass swaying in the wind and the huge industrial heritage remains in my mind.
