Anmyeondo Halmi Halabibawi Beach

#Beach Halmihalabawi Rock is a rock on Anmyeondo Island, which is designated as Scenic Site No. 69, located at Kkotji Beach in Seungeon-ri, Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. There is a legend handed down about Halmihalabawi Rock. During the reign of King Heungdeok (826-836), the 42nd king of Silla, Jang Bogo, the maritime king, established a maritime route connecting China, Japan, and Silla. He set up a strategic base in Geonseungpo, Anmyeondo, the center of the west coast, and dispatched General Seungeon as the person in charge. This legend seems to have been formed after that. The legend is about 1,150 years ago, General Seungeon had a beautiful wife named Mido. The general and his wife loved each other very much, and their affection deepened day by day. Then one day, the general received an order from his superiors and left his wife to go on a campaign. Mrs. Mido climbed up to the Gyeonseungpo Rock every day and waited with her eyes wide open for her husband to return. After waiting for several years like this, Mrs. Mido died on the rock. Then, the rock transformed into the image of a woman standing there waiting for her husband to return, and a large rock rose up next to it. People called the two rocks ‘Grandma and Grandpa Rocks.’ #Anmyeondo
