Healing history where the forest meets the sea: Min Byung-gal Memorial Hall

Located at 187 Cheollipo 1-gil, Sowon-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Cheollipo Arboretum is Korea's representative private arboretum. It was established in 1962 by Dr. Min Byung-gal, an American-born botanist, who began planting trees on barren land. It is the first in Asia and the 12th in the world to be selected as an 'Excellent Arboretum.' Spanning a vast 58 hectares (approximately 180,000 pyeong), the arboretum is home to over 16,000 plant species, including a spectacular display of 900 magnolia species, camellias, and evergreens. 🤍 Within the arboretum, the Min Byung-gal Memorial Hall recreates the thatched-roof office and workspace used by Dr. Min during his lifetime.
