Love the ancient street- Suzhou Shantang Street

#discoverchina Shantang Street is an ancient street with a history of over a thousand years, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Built along the Shantang River, a branch of the Grand Canal, it stretches for about seven li (approximately 3.5 kilometers) and is also known as "Seven-Li Shantang." The street has preserved many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with stone-paved roads, small bridges over flowing water, and traditional white-walled, black-tiled architecture that perfectly embody the charm of Jiangnan's water towns. This is why I especially love Shantang Street.
